The area is famous for salt production and visits to the mines are available all year round, The Sound of Music film was produced in the area and the panoramic views of St Gilgen on the lake feature in the opening panoramic shots. Other fresh-air enthusiasts can take advantage of the local golf courses (18-hole / 9-hole courses at the Golf Club Lungau) and tennis courts (2 outdoor sand courts). For the water rats there are opportunities to go swimming and rafting in the summer months. Winter: The Ainek-Katschberg ski-lift network ensures an unforgettable skiing experience! Six chair lifts, 10 drag lifts, and special features such as half-pipe, pro-jump, etc. in the fun park guarantee your winter enjoyment.
